HunnyBon is a New York based natural sweet shop that allows customers to indulge their sweet tooth in a healthier way. They were looking for branding that promoted a healthy, happy and fun lifestyle, that also felt modern and urban. They requested that I explore the use of a bear as the icon for the brand.

I started this project by researching their competitors and other modern health food companies. I then created a range of concept boards for them to choose their favorite design direction. After that, I began working on the logo. I created a range of logos with a bear as the icon, and explored different ways that the bear could interact with the typography of the logo. After a series of rounds and revisions we landed on a cute, curious bear icon gazing at a candy “O” within modern typography.

I then moved on to the rest of the visual identity, starting with the color palette: warm charcoals and a secondary palette of bright colors inspired by nature’s sweets, fruit. I also developed a modern pattern in a warm and cool color palette, and typography for the line. I created the core packaging showcasing the candy and the fun bear icon. I also created printed marketing materials, website banners, buttons and graphics, advertisements, shipping boxes and gift boxes to reinforce the visual identity of the brand.
